A couple of weeks ago, Heech and I had a weekend that was exceptionally free. We were able to spend time recharging on our own and I chose to watch a drama called Strong Girl Bongsoon. Super cute. Very enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend.
Anyway. I felt very cuddly and wanted to get that out of my system so I bothered Heech in his computer studio until he would hold me willingly. I sat on his lap and he let me lay my head on his chest as he rocked the chair back and forth like a makeshift rocking chair. I loved it. 5 minutes of quiet rocking, just being near him, feeling cherished. It’s one of my favorite moments with my Oppa. He quietly said to me, “Sometimes I forget that you can be girly like this too.” It was a tender moment.
Thus sparked my new song idea: Unexpected.
Meeting you
Loving me the way you do
After all this time still unexpected
Some days I catch myself in awe of you
Little things, quiet words, unexpected
I didn’t know it when I met you then
You’d be my strength, my best friend
Held my heart and it grew by your side
I’d let you steal my heart again
[This verse came last after Loren asked me to flesh the song out a little bit more. I wanted ‘steal my heart’ to be a theme, but it ended up being too cheesy with the whole bank robbery analogy hahaha]
Remind me when I feel I’ve lost my way
That things aren’t always as they seem
Your arms hold more than a thousand words
They speak their comfort to me
And do you see
Who you fell for still in me
Or will age and time pass by and affect us
Some day this will be our history too
Take my hand, like you did then
Unexpected
